Independent citizen project — not Tesla, not the government
TeslaInLA is an unofficial, independent grassroots petition created by private individuals. It is not a product, service, store, dealer, affiliate, subsidiary, partner, joint venturer, agent, employee, contractor, spokesperson, or authorized representative of Tesla, Inc., Tesla Motors, Inc., Tesla Energy, any Tesla-owned store, gallery, service center, or delivery location, Elon Musk, xAI, SpaceX, Neuralink, The Boring Company, or any of their officers, directors, shareholders, attorneys, or affiliates (collectively, “Tesla”). TeslaInLA is also not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the State of Louisiana, any parish or municipality, the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission, the Louisiana Legislature, the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association, the National Automobile Dealers Association, any franchised new-car dealer, any political party, candidate, campaign, PAC, or lobbyist. No one associated with this site is authorized to speak for those parties. Nothing here is an official Tesla communication, an official government filing, or an official dealer-association statement.
Trademarks, names, and intellectual property
“Tesla,” “Model S,” “Model 3,” “Model X,” “Model Y,” “Cybertruck,” “Semi,” “Roadster,” “Supercharger,” “Tesla Store,” the Tesla word mark, logos, vehicle names, and related branding are trademarks or registered trademarks of Tesla, Inc. or its affiliates. Other product and company names mentioned (including General Motors, Ford, Toyota, and dealer groups) are trademarks of their respective owners. Those marks appear on this site only for identification, news reporting, commentary, criticism, political speech, and nominative fair use in connection with a public-policy petition. No sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or license is expressed or implied. TeslaInLA does not claim any ownership of Tesla’s trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, patents, designs, software, or goodwill. Do not copy Tesla’s logos, vehicle imagery, or marketing from this site or anywhere else and treat them as yours. If you are a rights holder and believe material here infringes your rights, contact the operators and we will review it promptly.
Not legal, tax, consumer, or professional advice
Nothing on this website is legal advice, tax advice, investment advice, consumer advice, lobbying advice, or any other professional advice. The operators of TeslaInLA are not attorneys, and using this site does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, or confidential relationship. Laws about motor-vehicle sales, dealer franchises, manufacturer licensing, titling, registration, sales tax, and out-of-state purchases are complicated and change. Do not rely on this site as a statement of current law or as a guide to buying, leasing, titling, insuring, or servicing a vehicle. Consult a licensed Louisiana attorney, the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission, your parish tax collector, and official Tesla or dealer sources before you act. Court descriptions, settlement mentions, statutory summaries, and timelines on this site are simplified commentary based on publicly reported information. They may be incomplete, outdated, paraphrased, or wrong. They are not a complete case history, not a legal opinion, and not a prediction of what any court, legislature, or agency will do.
This petition has no official legal force
TeslaInLA is civic speech and grassroots advocacy. It is not a ballot initiative, referendum, recall, constitutional amendment, legislative bill, administrative petition, rulemaking comment, lawsuit, class action, demand letter, or filing with any court, agency, or legislature unless and until someone separately and lawfully files one. Signing does not enroll you in a lawsuit, does not make you a plaintiff or class member, does not register you as a lobbyist, does not donate money, and does not create a contract with Tesla, the State of Louisiana, any dealer, or the operators of this site except the limited terms in this disclaimer. There is no promise that Tesla will open a Louisiana store, that any law will change, that any lawsuit will succeed, that signatures will be delivered to any official, or that any official will read them. Signature counts, goals, and parish totals are campaign metrics, not certified election results and not verified against the voter rolls.
Opinions, maps, distances, and store listings
Headlines, maps, mileage estimates, “nearest store” lists, and narrative about why a dealership was blocked are opinion, illustration, and general information. Store cities (including Houston, North Little Rock, Brandon / Jackson, and Pensacola) and approximate driving distances are believed to be reasonably accurate as of publication but can change without notice. Tesla opens, closes, and relocates stores. Do not use this site for navigation, for real-estate or site-selection decisions, or as Tesla’s official store locator. The map is a simplified geographic illustration, not a survey. Political and commercial characterizations of dealers, the Motor Vehicle Commission, Tesla, or public officials are protected opinion and rhetorical hyperbole about a public controversy, not statements of provable private fact about any identified private person.
Signatures, electronic declarations, and publicity
If you sign, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 18 years old; (b) you are a current Louisiana resident at the street address you entered; (c) the legal name, address, parish, ZIP, and year of birth you submit are true and relate to you; (d) you are not impersonating anyone; (e) you are not signing as a joke, bot, or paid fraud; (f) you intend your typed name as your electronic signature under the Louisiana Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, La. R.S. 9:2601 et seq.; and (g) any optional comment is your own, is lawful, and does not defame, threaten, or infringe anyone. Your first name, last initial, city, parish, and comment are intended to be public and may be displayed on this website, quoted, screenshot, archived, printed, and shown to legislators, journalists, Tesla, dealer groups, and the general public. Your last name, street address, ZIP, year of birth, and typed signature are collected to identify you if the declaration is later reviewed; they are not shown on the public roll. We may store and process them solely to operate the petition and to produce the record of what you attested. We do not verify identity against a driver’s license, notary book, or voter file. A unique-name-and-ZIP check is not identity proof. TeslaInLA is not a notary, not a registrar of voters, and not a court clerk. We do not administer an oath, we do not certify R.S. 18:3 petitions, and we do not vouch that any signer is who they claim to be. Each signer — not the operators — is solely responsible for the truth of their declaration. A false statement is the signer’s problem, not a representation by TeslaInLA. We may refuse, edit, hide, or delete any signature or comment at any time, including suspected fraud, abuse, or legal risk. You grant the operators a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your submitted first name, last initial, city, parish, and comment for the petition and related news, advocacy, and archival purposes, and to retain the non-public declaration fields as a record of your attestation.
Private fields — retention and no sale
Last name, street address, ZIP, year of birth, and typed signature are kept only while this petition is operated, and for a reasonable time after it closes so the declaration record can still be produced if needed. They are then deleted or stripped of identifying detail. We do not sell, rent, trade, or barter those fields. We do not use them for advertising. We do not share them with Tesla, dealers, or anyone else except as required by law, or to show a signer their own record.
User content and no duty to monitor
Optional comments are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not of TeslaInLA, Tesla, or the State of Louisiana. The operators are not publishers of those comments in the traditional sense and do not adopt them as their own. To the fullest extent provided by applicable law, including 47 U.S.C. § 230 where it applies, the operators are not liable for user-submitted content. There is no duty to review, fact-check, or moderate signatures or comments before they appear, and any later removal is voluntary, not an admission.
As-is; no warranties
THIS WEBSITE, THE PETITION, THE MAP, THE LAWSUIT SUMMARY, AND ALL RELATED CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AVAILABILITY, OR QUIET ENJOYMENT. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, bugs, or data loss, or that signatures will be preserved forever. Hosting, databases, and third-party infrastructure can fail. You use the site at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATORS, AUTHORS, HOSTS, VOLUNTEERS, DESIGNERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS OF TESLAINLA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR LOST-PROFIT DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM OF DEFAMATION, TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT, UNFAIR COMPETITION, FALSE ADVERTISING, TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE, CONSUMER-PROTECTION VIOLATION, PRIVACY VIOLATION, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS SITE, THE PETITION, A SIGNATURE, A COMMENT, A MAP, A DESCRIPTION OF A LAWSUIT, OR ANYONE’S DECISION TO BUY, LEASE, OR NOT BUY A VEHICLE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IF ANY LIABILITY IS EVER IMPOSED NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, IT SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100.00) IN THE AGGREGATE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in this notice limits liability for fraud, or for injury to the extent such a limit is prohibited by non-waivable law.
Release and indemnification
By using this site or signing, you release and hold harmless the operators, authors, hosts, and volunteers of TeslaInLA from any and all claims, demands, and damages of every kind arising out of your use of the site, your signature, your comment, or your reliance on any content here, to the fullest extent the law allows. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless those same parties from and against any claim, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) brought by you or by a third party (including Tesla, a dealer, a dealer association, a government body, another signer, or a person you named or described) arising out of: your content; your breach of this disclaimer; your impersonation or false residency claim; your misuse of Tesla or third-party marks; or your violation of law. This duty to indemnify survives your use of the site and any deletion of your signature.
Third parties; no endorsement; no solicitation
Mention of Tesla, specific store cities, competitors, dealer groups, public officials, courts, or statutes is not an endorsement, attack-for-hire, or paid advertisement. This site does not sell cars, take deposits, broker leases, or solicit investments. It does not offer Tesla stock opinions. Links to third-party sites, if any, are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for their content or practices. Tesla, dealer groups, and government agencies are free to disagree with this petition. Their disagreement is not a basis for liability of the operators.
Minors, bots, and prohibited use
This petition is intended for adults. Do not submit a signature for a child, a pet, a fictional character, a public figure you are not, or an automated script. Do not use the site to harass, dox, threaten, or commit a crime. Do not attempt to scrape, overload, or break the service. We may block access, discard data, and report conduct to appropriate authorities.
Governing law, venue, severability
This notice, and any dispute arising out of this website or the petition, is governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that federal law (including the First Amendment and 47 U.S.C. § 230) applies where it controls. You agree that the exclusive venue for any permitted claim is the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If any provision of this disclaimer is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. A waiver of one breach is not a waiver of any other. This notice is the entire agreement between you and the operators concerning the website, and it supersedes prior informal statements. The operators may update this disclaimer at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Last updated August 24, 2026. This disclaimer is written to give notice and to allocate risk. It is not a guarantee that no one will sue, and it does not replace advice from your own lawyer. If you do not agree, do not use this website and do not sign.
